September 2013

In the month of September Callie and Jace both started dance classes.  Callie was not a fan of hers which was a ballet/jazz combo class and Jace enjoyed his hip hop/break dancing/tumbling sometimes when he is not clinging to mom.  We really need to work on that.  Callie continued to play soccer and loved it.

Over the week of Labor Day we took the kids on a trip to Southern California to visit with their cousins who live there.

Jace and Callie absolutely love the beach and the ocean.  They wanted to stay there all day long.

Jace only stayed buried long enough for us to take this photo.

We saw many beautiful sunsets and you just can't beat a sunset on the beach.

Bianca is an expert sand crab catcher and she taught Callie to do this also.  By the end of every trip to the beach they had a bucket full of these.

These two were like best buddies.

My sister Maureen and her family live in a community that has many pools.  The kids love the chance to jump off the diving board.

I just love this photo!

Cousins!  Haylee, Bianca, Callie and Jace

My brother-in-law Bryan helped to build this Genie.  It is entirely made out of cans of food.

We took the kids to Sea World.  It was such a hot day I wished we wore our swim suits.

I had to go with the kids on the spinning rides because they make Nate sick.

Callie petting the sting rays.  Jace refused to touch them.

Jace was really impressed by these shark jaws.

We loved watching the Shamu show.  We didn't sit low in the splash zone because I was worried about my camera getting soaked, but then I felt bad because the kids were disappointed.  They were dying of heat and wanted to get really wet.

The dolphin show was also fun and the kids were able to get more wet at this one.

While on our trip we went with my sister and her kids on a harbor cruise in Newport.  They took us out to where these sea lions take a rest on this bell.  We loved being able to spend time with our family and were sad when we had to leave.  We had a great time.

Apparently the only other exciting thing that happened in September that I took pictures of is that Callie got her ears pierced.  She didn't even cry and barely flinch.  So proud of my brave girl.
