Tulum

On Tuesday we drove about 1 hour south of our resort to Tulum (ruins of a Mayan temple/city). This was also the day we caught our first glimpses of blue sky. It was wonderful, but man was it HOT! So you will notice we stripped our kids down to their swim suits. The picture below has the temple in the background.

Another view of the temple.

Part of the city. Tulum was walled on 3 side and the 4 side was on the ocean. The temple was on the cliff side right next to the ocean and residences surrounded it.
On the back side of the temple on the way down to the beach.

Callie and Jace playing on the rocks.

Exploring the ruins.

There were these large lizards everywhere and Callie and Jace were obsessed with them. They didn't care about the ruins, but they loved searching for lizards.

After we were done exploring the ruins we spent a little time playing at the beach. Unfortunately I was not prepared to see the sun, so my kids did not have sunblock on so we were in a little bit of a rush. We didn't get to play at the beach long because of that.

I tried to keep Jace shaded with my body most of the time so I got a pretty good tan on my back and shoulders.
