Callie's VCUG

Callie went in and had her VCUG yesterday morning. She did really well. We probably will not have the results until Tuesday since Monday is a holiday. Here are a few pictures from her adventure.

Callie got to wear one of those cute little hospital gowns again. We showed up at the hospital at 8:00am and waited for about 40 minutes for her ultrasound. This picture is from after her ultrasound when she is getting ready for her sedation.

They brought some toys in for her to play with.

She also got to see bubbles for the first time. She wouldn't grab for them though. She would just watch them as they fell and disappeared.

This is a picture of Callie on the X-Ray table. It took them a while to get her IV in again. She was poked 4 times. At least this time the anesthesiologist gave her some gas before they put the IV in so she wasn't really aware of it. Nate and I were not able to be with her while she was getting sedated. It took them about 10-15 minutes to get her all prepped and then we met back up with her and walked down to X-ray.

It was basically a wake sedation. Callie was awake for pretty much the whole procedure, but she was pretty drowsy and out of it.

Here is Callie after the procedure was complete and she was back in the out-patient surgery room. She had wires running everywhere.

Callie had to get the IV in her foot this time. OUCH. It was kind of funny for the first little while it was like holding a newborn again. She had a hard time holding her head up and it was flopping everywhere.

Nate went and bought Callie a little monkey at the gift shop. Here is Callie holding it. See how drowsy she is.

Here is a funny video of Callie. After they wheeled her out of the X-ray room and were heading back down the hall she started yelling. It continued for about 5 minutes. She was disturbing all of the other patients recovering from their surgeries.
